Dbrand challenges Sony to sue them for the sale of matte black PS5 plates

Dbrand, the company behind custom phone skins, cases and screen that recently released its new matte black custom ‘darkplates’, is now challenging Sony to sue them.

The accessory is unofficial and not a genuine Sony product and is only intended to beautify the PS5. To provide some context to the case, accessory company PlateStation5.com, which began selling custom PlayStation faceplates, was forced to cancel all of its shares and rename itself CustomizeMyPlates.com after Sony attorneys complained of trademark infringement.

Currently, Dbrand has sold out all of its matte black dark records and is waiting for the new stock in May. The dark plate has a unique micro-textured design of tiny PlayStation button icons that the company cheekily calls “a familiar, but legally distinct apocalyptic twist on the classic PlayStation button shapes.”

Dbrand sells matte black dark plates for PS5 editions for $ 49.00, raising the price to $ 60.95 by adding a middle skin. The PS5 Digital Edition, Dark Plates costs $ 19.95 with a middle skin, but the matte black design has yet to be made available for it.
