Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison is ‘done playing’ for Seahawks

Shortly before the game between Seattle Seahawks and Los Angles Rams got underway on Sunday, interesting news broke about the defensive tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero tweeted the following:

DT Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison asked for his release after learning he would be inactive against the #Rams today, and the team plans to release it next week, according to sources. Seattle loves snacks and hopes he changes his mind, but it looks like he’s determined. He would continue with waivers.

Harrison was eventually deemed inactive against the Rams on Sunday.

Coach Pete Carroll confirmed the scenario on Monday during his radio show on 710 ESPN Seattle.

“Snacks, he’s decided to quit playing, he’s done playing,” said Carroll. “I spoke to him this morning, he is cheerful and all that, he is very grateful for the opportunity to play here and he did very well with us, but he just finished.”

Carroll hesitated to speculate whether Harrison would consider signing with another team, but reiterated that his time in Seattle was up.

“He was great to have around,” Carroll continued. “We loved him and I’m sorry to see him go, but we’ll keep going.”
