  • Sony has pulled Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store.
  • The company added that anyone who purchased the game will receive a refund.

Cyberpunk 2077 may be the most hyped video game of the year, but its launch has been riddled with bugs across all versions. Unfortunately, the last generation versions of the game are also seeing a massive drop in performance.

Now Sony has taken a perhaps unprecedented step by removing the title “until further notice” from the PlayStation Store. In addition, consumers who bought the game also get a refund.

“THEY [Sony Interactive Entertainment – ed] is committed to high customer satisfaction, which is why we will start offering a full refund to all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 through PlayStation Store, ”the company explains on its website.

“Once we’ve confirmed that you’ve purchased Cyberpunk 2077 through PlayStation Store, we’ll start processing your refund,” Sony explained, adding that refund completion may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.

Sony’s refund policy states that no refunds can be made for content that has already been downloaded or streamed, “unless the content is defective”. In other words, it certainly sounds like the Japanese company thinks Cyberpunk 2077 is faulty on its consoles. However, it makes us wonder why Sony approved the game for its consoles in the first place back then.

Do you think the game’s performance and finish on console warrant a refund? Please give your opinion below.
