CD Projekt Red has released patch 1.1 for Cyberpunk 2077, the first of several updates and fixes they have planned for 2021. Patch 1.1 is largely focused on stability, CDPR says, which they will continue to improve in the next upcoming patch 1.2.

As for stability, CDPR says they’ve addressed memory usage associated with many of the game systems, including characters, navigation, street traffic, and more. They have also made fixes for crash issues while loading saved files and opening or closing the game.

Related to some prominent save file corruption issues shortly after launch, CDPR says they fixed a problem “responsible for saves getting too large (related to the modifier that indicates whether the item was manufactured) and the excess size. of pre-existing saves “. However, this will not repair save files that were already damaged before the previous hotfix 1.06.

Specifically for PC users, CDPR say players should now be able to earn achievements while Steam is in offline mode. Also on the PC fix list is “game startup crashes related to loading cache on NVIDIA graphics cards.”

You can find the rest of the update notes for patch 1.1 on the CDPR site.

This is the first of several updates and patches in 2021 that CDPR had planned in their fairly volatile roadmap last week. Along with the roadmap, CDPR also posted the above apology video and a page on their site dedicated to their progress in improving the game.

Graham’s Cyberpunk 2077 review calls it “a big, beautiful and broken mess.”
