Despite running pretty awful on the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, now someone has found a way to make it Cyberpunk 2077 playable on Nintendo Switch. And while the thought of Cyberpunk When played on a Switch you might think Nintendo would almost explode the hybrid handheld console, the way the game is accessible on the platform isn’t what you’d expect.
The YouTuber comes through Nintendrew and has found a rather strange solution that leads to the Nintendo Switch being able to play Cyberpunk 2077. As you might expect, the platform is unable to run the game natively for a number of reasons, so how exactly did it manage to do this feat? Well, Google Stadia steps.
Yes, Nintendrew essentially hacked its Switch to be able to install Android software. From this point on, Google Stadia can then be downloaded to the platform as it is now technically an Android device. The way Nintendrew performs this feat is not overly complicated and could easily be done by you if you decide to do that.
What’s intriguing about it Cyberpunk 2077 However, when running on Switch in this way, players may still use the Joy-Con or a Nintendo Pro Controller to play the game. You somehow don’t need to pair any other type of controller to the Switch or anything like that. Once Stadia is installed, you can play games through the service just like you normally would on the Switch.
As for how Cyberpunk 2077 performs on Switch, well it’s actually quite impressive. Again, since this is played through Stadia, all of the hardware used to run the game is elsewhere, so the Switch itself is not so much familiar with performance. In fact, based on the footage shown of the game in action, it appears to be running at a stable 720p in handheld mode with 1080p as output when you link it to your TV.
Obviously, it’s worth noting that if you try this with your own Switch, there’s a slim chance you could block your unit. Additionally, if you have a warranty associated with the console, it can void it immediately. So make sure this is something you really want to do for yourself if you give it a try.
