There is now a mod available for you to play with Cyberpunk 2077 in third-person on the PC, but be warned, while it works in its most basic, functional sense, it’s not something you’ll want to use for a real time frame.

The mod, made by Jelle Bakker, can be downloaded here. Allows the player to move the camera backwards Cyberpunk’s standard first-person viewpoint, and allows you to not only move around, but more importantly admire your outfit in the third person.

It takes some work to get started, and a separate code has to be entered to … load your head. When everything is done it can look pretty good if you keep your movements slow and steady!

However, if you move faster or more suddenly, things look a little less elegant.

This is cool because if The Witcher 3 (or Grand Theft Auto, or Assassin’s Creed, or red death) have shown us everything, it’s that we prefer our open world games to be in the third person so we can see what we’re wearing and get a better foundation in our environment.

But it also is not cool because this doesn’t really work because there are so many of it CyberpunkFrom the fights to the cutscenes to the animation of the player’s own character, has been designed from the ground up to be experienced from a first person perspective, and so this mod is more of an incidental thing and not an entirely new one way to play the game.

If you want to give it a try, you can download it here.
