Villa Clara’s Ángel Villareal Bravo Industrial Company, also known as Ciclos Minerva, will produce some 10,000 electric bicycles by 2021, the highest number since that line’s inclusion in its business portfolio, Vanguardia newspaper reported.

Last year, the entity, which is part of the Grupo Empresarial de la Industria Sideromecánica (Gesime), raised 25 million pesos for the sale of electric bicycles and tricycles, of which more than four million in freely convertible currency (MLC).

Elier Pérez Pérez, its managing director, explained to the newspaper that these results correspond to their inclusion in electronic commerce, through the purchase gateways and through sales in the network of stores in MLC, of ​​the Cimex and Caribe chains.

The official said that Ciclos Minerva currently has three suppliers abroad and is signing a new contract, which will allow it to insure the raw materials and close this year with total sales of more than 150 million pesos and increased revenues in MLC.

Regarding the outlook for 2021, Pérez Pérez said they are considering the rescue of mechanical bicycles, for their commercialization in national currency and in MLC, in addition to offering some spare parts.

They also undertake other high-quality productions for the country, such as the manufacture of galvanized doors for the housing program and the manufacture of pallet racks for tourism projects, funded by the Almest Real Estate Company, whose process of metal forming, painting and assembly, carried out in the industry itself. Pérez Pérez explained that the contracts with Almest promote the introduction of new technologies to perfect the finish of their productions.

Ciclos Minerva is currently working on several development projects in the test phase, including five models of electric freight and passenger tricycles, expected to be introduced in the latter part of the year, and they are studying two models of electric four-wheelers to include them. in the business portfolio.
