(CNN Español) – This Thursday, Vicente Vérez Bencomo, general director of the Finlay Institute of Vaccines of Cuba, announced in the Roundtable program that the third phase of trials of the covid-19 vaccine, Soberana 02, will begin.

Phase 3 would begin in March and the vaccine would be tested in a group of 42,600 people. Rehearsals take place in Havana.
Vérez Bencomo said Cuba is engaged in large-scale production of the vaccine and would prepare the first batch of 100,000 doses of vaccines.
