Cristiano Ronaldo defended Mexican boxer Andy Ruiz in his fight against Anthony Joshua

Cristiano Ronaldo has caused many surprises in an interview conducted by DAZN, together with one of the best boxers of the moment, Gennady Golovkin. Earlier, the Juventus forward revealed that he enjoyed watching boxing or UFC more than football in his spare time.

More curious moments of that interview are constantly being revealed, the latter having to do with the Mexican boxer, Andy Ruiz, who surprised the whole world by beating Antnony Joshua for the World Heavyweight Championship.

It was such a surprise that the Lusitan star spoke to an oco about how he saw that fight, noting that his friends were making fun of the national boxer’s body and saying he was fat; Cristiano, however, defended him.

Joshua is one of the best, but Ruiz is good. That’s what I always talked about with my friends because they joked and told me to look at Ruiz’s fat body. I would tell them, ‘Listen, the body doesn’t matter. What matters is preparation. ‘

Ruiz lost the title to Joshua months later, sparking a tidal wave of criticism for his physical condition as many saw a major change between the first and second fight. Ruiz is currently training at ‘Canelo’ Álvarez.
