Juventus coach said they are ‘free citizens’ after attacker sparked controversy for violating anti-Covid-19 restrictions
The coach of the Juventus, Andrea Pirlo pointed out that Cristiano Ronaldo “can do whatever he wants in his spare time”, after local media reported that the attacker traveled between the regions of Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta, despite the fact that there is a ban by government decree.
“Ronaldo had a day off, he can do whatever he wants in his spare time. Off the field we are free citizens and each has its own responsibilities,” said the Turin club coach.
Italian authorities are investigating a possible violation of anti-Covid-19 regulations by the Lusitano, after reportedly traveling between regions to get the 27th birthday of his girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez.
Aosta Valley police have confirmed to Reuters that an investigation has been launched into the couple’s trip to the Alpine town of Coeurmayeur. after they were warned by videos on social networks in which both appear on a snowmobile in honor of Rodríguez. If Ronaldo is proven to have made the trip, the most likely result is a fine.
In October, the Juventus attacker became embroiled in a public dispute with Italy’s sports minister after indirectly accusing the two of lying about potentially breaking national health rules after a positive test on Covid-19.
Vincenzo Spadafora pointed out that Ronaldo could have broken the rules by flying back to Italy, after a concentration with the Portuguese team, and once caught the virus.
