Crime Fighters- Who Killed Khallid Henderson ?: Grandmother Seeking Justice For Grandson Shot To Death On Philadelphia Basketball Court

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – A Philadelphia grandmother who lost her grandson to gun violence makes two pleas, one for help solving the case and another to save the young people of her beloved city.

“He was a beast on the basketball court, like from birth, Khallid bounced a ball from birth,” said Khalilah Moore with a smile on her face.

Moore said her grandson, Khallid Henderson, used to play basketball.

“He took that dirty ball everywhere,” she said.

That’s what he did on Wednesday, September 16 at Roberto Clemente Park in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia.

“He went to court to play ball, and around 8:10 pm I think they think they said boys came on the basketball court and shot the basketball court. And Khallid lost his life on the basketball court,” said Moore. .

Police said three gunmen fired about 55 shots at the busy court.

Multiple shots hit Henderson, killing him. Police said the 21-year-old was targeted, but his family cannot understand why.

He loved everyone. He was not part of street life. It was not part of any beef. He had no problem with anyone, ”said Moore.

The City of Philadelphia is offering a reward of up to $ 20,000 for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. All you need to do is call the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. All calls remain anonymous.

Moore says the message to city officials is simple: do something to curb gun violence.

Why can’t we find out why our youth die on the streets of Philadelphia? Who will give them the weapons? ‘ Moore asked.

She’s just begging for a tip.

“Everyone knows something like the jackets, the types of shoes they had or whether they had gloves or a hat, whatever you remember about these guys, call the Crime Commission so we can get justice for Khallid,” Moore said.
