COVID NYC update: Huge Ma, creator of vaccine appointment site TurboVax, honored by Andrew Yang, Ritchie Torres

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – The founder of the vaccine appointment website TurboVax was praised Tuesday for making the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine easier for New Yorkers.

NYC mayoral candidate Andrew Yang and Congressman Ritchie Torres honored TurboVax founder Huge Ma.

Ma, an engineer, has created a simple, free, and easy-to-use website that identifies and enables people to sign up for vaccine appointments in real time.

His site has made vaccine rollout easier for thousands of New Yorkers.

“I never intended to interfere or interfere with this, I always just followed my gut,” Mom said. “When I built TurboVax, I wanted to make the vaccine process easier, that’s it. I never expected it to help tens of thousands, probably hundreds of thousands now, get their vaccines.”

Torres said he helped save lives.

“At a cost of just $ 50, Huge managed to do what the federal government and what the local and municipal governments couldn’t do with far more resources in less than two weeks,” said Torres.

Ma is also using his growing platform to raise money to fight anti-Asian violence in the city.
