A plane pulled up together on the runway before taking off in New York when a couple opened the emergency slide and got off there with their puppy.
The event took place on Monday in a Delta plane at LaGuardia airport. The plane was bound for Atlanta when Antonio Murdock and Brianna Greco, both from Florida, got off the plane, an airline spokesman said.
According to witnesses, Murdock panicked, opened the emergency door and descended the slide. Greco and the little dog immediately followed him.
Murdock, 31, and Greco, 27, were arrested, among other things, for misconduct and violations. The dog was transferred to an animal shelter.
For now it is unknown whether they have lawyers.
Brian Plummer, one of the passengers, told the New York Times that before getting off the plane, the couple changed seats several times on a plane that was not full. The man eventually got up, ignoring an order from a flight attendant to sit down before takeoff and tell him he was suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome.
The plane had to return to the departure gate and passengers were transferred to other flights.
