Earlier today, anyone trying to find or play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Steam came across a weird surprise: the game was missing. Just gone.

It came back quickly, but for a while, one of the greatest video games in the world had just got on there and disappeared. The store page featured an “OOPS, SORRY!” message, and the number of simultaneous players went through the floor.

Like Pavel Djundik from SteamDB commented Counterattack wasn’t the only game affected, with a handful of other titles gone as well.

While Valve tells Kotaku the disappearance was “just a glitch in the back”, let’s not ignore the fact Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been working every day without a break since 2012. Maybe it just needed a morning off, a cup of tea, reading a magazine, just sorting out its thoughts.
