Costco is now offering appointments for the COVID vaccine at its pharmacies.

On Saturday, Costco announced that it is rolling out coronavirus vaccines, mainly Moderna, to locations in California. Currently the only location in the Bay Area is Novato Costco. There are also participating locations in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Costco has not specified if or when it will expand its locations with the vaccine, although its site says it will “check back regularly for updates.”

All available Novato appointments are booked as of Sunday morning.

Appointments must be made online. Costco asks that people do not call their pharmacy as all planning is done through the online portal. You don’t have to be a Costco member to use the pharmacies.

According to state guidelines, the only people now eligible for vaccines, health and childcare workers are adults 65 and older, and high-risk front-line workers. You can check your eligibility here.

“Costco is committed to helping protect the health and safety of our members and employees and to serve our communities. Our pharmacies will administer COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they are available, in accordance with CDC and state guidelines,” the chain said in a statement.

As of Sunday, Costco has also been distributing vaccines in New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, and Washington.
