PHOENIX – A second COVID-19 vaccination site will open next month due to high demand for the state’s first site at State Farm Stadium.
On February 1, the Phoenix Municipal Stadium will open as a coronavirus vaccination site. According to a press release from Governor Doug Ducey’s office, registration for on-site appointments will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19.
Located near the Phoenix Zoo at the corner of Mill Avenue and Priest Drive / Galvin Parkway, Phoenix Municipal Stadium offers daytime appointments based on vaccine availability.

The news comes as State Farm Stadium continues to see its fair share of vaccine registrations, resulting in a fully booked January at the Glendale site.
More appointments for State Farm Stadium in February will also become available Tuesday, January 19 at 9am. They will offer appointments for the second dose in addition to the current capacity for first doses, the press release said.
The governor’s office says there are more than 200 vaccination sites in Arizona that received the vaccine, including 45 community health centers.
For those still looking to register for a coronavirus vaccine appointment, the county’s health departments would be working to increase availability in their locations.
The CDC’s Retail Pharmacy Program will add 100 pharmacy stores in the coming weeks that can administer the vaccine. Once the program is in full swing, more than 800 Arizona pharmacies will have vaccines available.
Nearly 190,000 doses of the vaccine were administered in Arizona Thursday morning, including 17,000 people who completed both doses.
