Coronavirus Symptoms: COVID symptoms likely show up in this order, a study finds

Fever, a common symptom seen with both the original mutation and the more contagious variant currently in circulation, is the first symptom people report after contracting COVID-19.

According to previous studies mapping the symptoms of COVID patients in 2020, fever was the main symptom in more than 76% of cases. There are also likely chances that the newer mutation will give rise to more symptomatic cases, with fever increasingly being considered a COVID sign.

Most cases have a mild fever (ranging between 99 degrees Fahrenheit and 101 degrees Farhenheit) and stay for 3 or 4 days. If the fever lasts for more than a week, or if you don’t experience a difference in your symptoms, it could be a sign of serious complications related to COVID.

Remember, fever can also be accompanied by chills, dullness, and malaise along with a persistent fever.
