Hurry economic difficulties, passengers from Mexico City International Airport (AICM) go to the laboratory and three clinics currently installed in the terminal for the application of PCR and rapid tests of COVID-19.
The test with negative result to the new coronavirus is an essential requirement to enter U.S Y different countries in Latin America and Europe, but not all are accepted at the time of boarding, which has generated uncertainty and annoyance among passengers, many of whom missed their flight.
This Wednesday, Miriam Levan returned to his country of origin, Peru, but the moment he boarded his flight the rapid antigen test that was practiced in a government kiosk of Mexico City.
It was done hours in advance and at the time of listing they let him know it was not through Peruvian authorities.
“I presented this test, they told me it was not valid and I was afraid I would lose my return.”
“I did a test at the mayor’s office, an antigen test, a rapid test, it came out negative, I took it and when I got on board they told me that this test is not validated in Peru and that I had to get another one.
That’s why Miriam Levan was sent by the airline to a lab installed in a hotel near the air terminal in the country’s capital, which paid more than 700 pesos for a quick test.

More relaxed, the Peruvian believed that the tests conducted by the Mexican government, both national and foreign citizens, should be accepted when boarding an international flight.
“It seems right to me (to ask for negative tests), especially since the Mexican government is concerned about giving to everyone, nationals and foreigners alike, and that should be valid to use.
“On the other hand, they don’t validate it in Peru, but it’s valid because it’s a test that the Mexican state is taking. It seems to me it’s something serious, it should be valid,” he said.
Ecuadorian María Quizhpilema had rejected two Covid tests when she tried to board the flight back to her country.
One was performed by the Mexico City government and the other in a private laboratory; however, the PCR has been applied, the only one that your country accepts.
He came to visit the Virgin of Guadalupe, but ran out of money because of the investment in Covid tests and transfers.
“I was done with the money I had to return to Ecuador. Monday and Tuesday without eating, I stayed cold and hungry at the airport,” he said.
There is currently a laboratory and four Traveler’s Clinics operating at Mexico City International Airport, the latest installed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where airlines send passengers to undergo rapid tests or Covid’s PCR, according to the matter.
