Coronavirus in Oregon: 267 new cases and 22 deaths

The Oregon Health Authority announced 267 new coronavirus cases and 22 deaths on Tuesday.

Where the new cases are by province: Benton (3), Clackamas (28), Coos (3), Crook (2), Curry (5), Deschutes (15), Douglas (13), Harney (1), Jackson (18), Jefferson (2), Josephine (13), Klamath (7), Lake (2), Lane (12), Lincoln (3), Linn (5), Marion (34), Multnomah (50), Polk (4), Tillamook (3), Umatilla (18), Union (3), Wasco (1), Washington (20) and Yamhill (2).

Who died: The state had not yet released any information on the 22 fatalities reported Tuesday.

Prevalence of infections: On Tuesday, the state reported 486 new positive tests out of 18,600 tests performed, which equates to a positivity rate of 2.6%.

Who became infected: New confirmed or suspected infections grew among the following age groups: 0-9 (7); 10-19 (31); 20-29 (51); 30-39 (47); 40-49 (37); 50-59 (45); 60-69 (25); 70-79 (12); 80 and older (7).

Who’s in the hospital: The state reported that 119 people had been hospitalized with a confirmed case of COVID-19, which is one more than Monday’s number. There were 25 COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), two more than Monday in comparable care.

Vaccines administered: The state said it could not provide updated vaccination figures indicating how many first and second doses were administered statewide on Tuesday due to a server outage. The coming days could be skewed by the outage, the state warned. 1,731,755 doses have been delivered to the state as of Tuesday. According to Monday’s figures, 1,346,090 doses had been administered.

Since it started: Oregon has reported 160,050 confirmed or suspected infections and 2,346 deaths, one of the lowest per capita numbers in the country. To date, the state has reported 3,989,307 lab reports of tests.
