One of the companies that McGregor ventured into was alcoholic beverages. In 2008, the hunter and his manager, Audie Attar, released a whiskey called Proper No. Twelve. The drink was an instant success and notable fame, as McGregor himself showcased it at many of his public events.
Its success was such that the export of this Irish whiskey to other markets, especially to the United States, brought in millions of euros in profit and made the brand one of the most coveted.

When this whiskey hit the market, the Mexican company Becle, specializing in the tequila market, had a significant stake: it was part of the financing of the entire process, for which it received 20 percent of the stake in the company from the start. .
That percentage grew with the years and with the success of the drink. Last year, Becle increased its stake to 49 percent and now the news is that the Mexican company has taken full control and bought the remaining 51 percent.
According to the Irish Mirror newspaper, Becle paid about 130 million euros to take full control of the company. What remains to be seen is whether McGregor will remain committed to the brand, given the great promotion he’s done on it.
