Concacaf Top 10 Ranking | IFFHS ranks Herediano, Saprissa and Alajuelense among the best in the region for the past decade

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has published new rankings on its official site, which usually has a great impact in the world, due to its character of reference in that field and how controversial they can seem taking into account that they are made on the basis of cold numbers.

One of them is one list where the top ten teams of the Concacaf in the past decade are named, in which the entities advocating in the League MX of Mexico predominate widely. However, there are also three clubs from Costa Rica: Deportivo Saprissa; Alajuelense Sports League and Sport Herediano Club

It is important to point this out there are no clubs from other latitudes, so it makes sense to assume that this trio is above any MLS franchise in the United States (albeit with three newcomers from Canada such as Toronto FC, Montreal Impact, and Vancouver Whitecaps).

The first five places are Aztecs: Tigres UANL; Monterrey; America; Santos Laguna and Cruz Azul, in that order. Then the first of the Ticos, Herediano, appears. Toluca and Pumas then follow UNAM in seventh and eighth place respectively. Finally, purple first and red and black later complete the Top 10.

The Liga Promérica is highly appreciated by the IFFHS, something that was picked up after they put it down as the second best national league Concacaf has. This of course under Liga MX.
