Tips for completing the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go
Here are some tips that will help you make up for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge every day:
- Since most of the Pokémon for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge are in the wild, it’s a good idea to use incense to increase your chances of finding these creatures.
- You can also use a Lure Module to lure Pokémon to specific PokéStops; using the Magnetic Lure increases your chances of encountering Minum or Plusle, while the Mossy Lure attracts both the poison and bug type Pokémon.
- There are some Pokémon that you can only catch by beating them in raids, so if you have spare Remote Raid Passes now is the time to use them.

- To add both Latias and Latios to your Collecting Challenge, you must assemble dedicated teams who will help you defeat them in raids. Try to prevent any of your Pokémon from passing out during these raid battles as this will reduce the number of Premier Balls you receive.
- If you’re having trouble finding Luvdisc in the wild, try hatching some of the 3-mile eggs you collect during Valentine’s Day.
- During the Valentine’s Day event, there will be a number of field research tasks, which will reward you with a number of Pokémon from the Collecting Challenge List. However, you may have to visit some PokéStops to find the research task you need.

How the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge works in Pokémon Go
Collecting Challenges in Pokémon Go were released in January 2021 and will run in conjunction with select in-game events. With each Collection Challenge, you catch a number of Pokémon that appear in the wild more often thanks to the event.
Once you complete the Collecting Challenge by catching them all, you will be rewarded with a number of items and progress towards your Elite Collector medal.
The Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge runs alongside the Valentine’s Day event and is available from Sunday, February 14 at 1:00 PM (local time) to Thursday, February 18 at 8:00 PM (local time)

Collection Challenges can be found in the ‘Today View’, which can be accessed by pressing the field research button (the small binoculars) in the bottom right corner of the screen. Depending on whether you looked at your current field or special research assignments, you may need to scroll left.
After opening the Today View, you’ll find a list of the Pokémon you need to catch to complete the Collecting Challenge. When you catch a Pokémon in the Collection Challenge Rooster, tick it off the list to keep track of which ones you caught and which didn’t.

It is important to note that evolving a Pokémon does not count towards the Collection Challenge, which means that your Eevee cannot evolve into Espeon or Umbreon. Instead, you will have to catch them.
Remember – the Collecting Challenge must be completed before the associated event ends and it disappears.
Good luck completing the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge!
