Netflix has decided to start 2021 strong, which is why it announced the premiere of the series’ third season “Cobra KaiFor January 1, a date that promises to be for fans of fiction.

As a reminder, the streaming platform shared an extensive video in which the series’ protagonists – notably William Zabka and Ralph Macchio, Johnny and Daniel respectively – explain the most striking details of the first two episodes.

“Cobra Kai happens 34 years after Johnny lost the All Valley tournament with a low blow to Daniel”, explicitly William Zabka. “That was legal, but okay.”replied, jokingly, Ralph Macchio.

“Today (Johnny) is a middle-aged man, unlucky and life sucks a lot more than it did in 1984“, Zabka said. Daniel’s life, for his part, “has turned out wonderful.” He owns the Valley auto dealership chain. He has a beautiful life with his wife Amanda and their two perfect children ”, Macchio specified.

In a moment of reflection, Johnny sees his neighbor Miguel being haunted by a bully named Kyler, “And he does what any adult in this situation would do: teach a group of teenagers a lesson.” Of course they arrested him after this, but he managed to get out and met Daniel, who told him he was better off without Cobra Kai, so Johnny decides to reopen the dojo to prove his rival wrong.

In this new adventure Johnny trains Miguel, who with the passage of time becomes his apprentice and right-hand man. This happens when Robby, the son of the new Cobra Kai leader, becomes involved with Daniel LaRusso’s family and decides he wants to learn Karate..

The first season ended – how could it be otherwise – with the karate tournament and the victory of Miguel Díaz, the apprentice of Johnny Lawrence, against his son Robby, which made Cobra Kai popular. After this, Daniel is encouraged to open his dojo and on the other side, another character appears from the shadows: John Kreese, Johnny’s teacher.

In the second season, Daniel LaRusso decides to pay tribute to his teacher Miyagi and opens his dojo “Miyagi Do”.. With this initiative, Daniel wants to instill in his daughter Samantha (Mary Mouser) and Robbie (Tanner Buchanan) the discipline and loyalty he received.

Daniel joins as Robby’s father, as his replacement karate teacher, and as a father figure who invites him to live with the LaRusso family. Like a good boy, Daniel turns to Cobra Kai to tell Johnny about his son, but finds him with Kreese “Macchio explained.

As the chapters progress, the young actors’ story unfolds even more, but Johnny is also reunited with former colleagues from his dojo, with whom he travels to clean up and support his friend Tommy, who was diagnosed with cancer.. During this trip, Kreese takes the opportunity to “discipline and teach the ‘No Mercy’ philosophy”.

The second season ends with a disastrous situation at the school, where Robby kicks Miguel in a battle and he falls from a considerable height and is seriously injured.. Faced with this out of control situation, Amanda issues an ultimatum to Daniel, herself, or the dojo.

Finally, Johnny also decides to leave everything and Kreese takes control of Cobra Kai. As if that wasn’t enough, they opened a new story, the return of Ali Mils, the woman who first confronted Johnny and Daniel in the original trilogy. What role will it play? We will find out on January 1.
