CNN is still facing a credibility crisis.
Again … left-wing anchor Brian Stelter, along with many other ‘journalists’ at CNN, gave cover to controversial New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
When PolitiFact blamed Gov. Cuomo for his role in thousands of deaths in nursing homes across the state, citing a lack of “hard evidence” that his controversial mandate was badly due, Stelter offered no backlash.
CNN’s left-wing pundit failed to mention Cuomo’s alleged cover up of the troubling death toll that prompted an FBI investigation amid two-pronged calls to deprive him of his emergency power.
Stelter and the governor’s brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, (to name a few) have made an unprecedented effort to downplay and stave off the Democrat’s controversies, with the far-left network showing little development. until no airtime – and Chris Cuomo has a free hand to conduct friendly, comical interviews with the scandal-plagued governor.
A bomb development in the scandal that devastated the New York Democrat came to the fore last week when an Albany-based watchdog group directly linked Cuomo’s command to more than 1,000 additional deaths among residents. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the state death toll among nursing home residents has exceeded 15,000.
PolitiFact editor-in-chief Angie Drobnic Holan told CNN’s in-house expert Stelter on Sunday that Cuomo’s guideline for nursing homes to accept patients who had COVID-19 or who were suspected of having COVID-19 probably did not “make a significant difference in COVID deaths.”
POLITIFACT CONTINUES TO WORK ON BLAM ON CUOMO NURSING HOME SCANDAL
“I think the situation is very complicated,” said Holan to the host of “Reliable Sources”. There are certainly things to criticize about how the administration handled data, but the heart of the matter goes back to last year when the state asked for COVID patients ready to be released from the hospital, [and] we don’t see any hard evidence that that made a significant difference in COVID deaths. “
Holon echoed Cuomo’s claim that the troubling COVID rate in senior care facilities was in large part due to transmission among staff and visitors. Once again, the left-wing ‘journalist’ Stelter decided not to question it.
“If you look at the statistics, New York is about the same number as other states across the country, and the problem was workers in the nursing homes who didn’t know they were bringing COVID-19 to the nursing homes, so it’s a really complicated situation. , “said Holon.” There are no definite answers here. “
MEGHAN MCCAIN TORCHT MEDIA’S ‘PISS POOR’ COVERAGE FROM CUOMO NURSING HOME SCANDAL
After weeks of silence, Stelter finally addressed the controversy on his show last week, after he ignored a report from the New York Post that revealed that a top Cuomo aide admitted to Democratic lawmakers that the government had withheld data to avoid federal scrutiny .
