You have probably already had conversations about the application of social networks voice chat based Clubhouse, because it’s been popping up all over the place lately, but you may have no idea what it is.
The so-called “direct audio app” is currently in beta mode, which means it requires an invitation to join and is only available to users of iPhoneBut that hasn’t stopped more than 600,000 people from signing up since its launch last April. And many of those people are members of the world of events, the marketing and the entrepreneurship.
I’ve spoken to some active users to answer the questions that are currently emerging …
How exactly does it work? Once you’ve received an invitation from an existing member, you can set up your profile and use a search feature to find people to connect with and clubs relevant to your interests. When those people and clubs have a conversation, basically a virtual dashboard, you’ll see a notification on your main channel (or “hall” as you call it. Clubhouse).
Conversations are not recorded so they are only available in real time, giving you the feeling of being out of one exclusive chat behind the scenes with experts in their field. There are also options to start your own clubs and have your own recurring conversations, with each member receiving a series of invites for their own friends and colleagues to join.
Why does it serve as networking and should I consider it as a network for my profession? In a world where there is currently little social contact, the app has a large and growing community of professionals, who are attracted to the networking aspects and the opportunity to exchange ideas. Several clubs have emerged specifically targeting event production, virtual events, weddings, marketing strategies, industry diversity.
Clubhouse is like a conference 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can find dizzying conversations that people participate in, in a style similar to that of a podcasts, round tables, networking opportunities some, very clever, they are already changing the term influence for that of “moderator” and being able to profitably use the multiple rooms.
I believe Clubhouse is the first social platform that makes the networks truly authentic. I love events because of the connections that are made, and those connections are now being made in the clubhouse, it changes the way we connect, collaborate, and consume information. For me, that is a great opportunity for the events industry to seize.
