Clark County mass vaccination appointments open Sunday afternoon

Appointments for the coming week on Clark County’s COVID-19 mass vaccination site open Sunday afternoon.

Those who qualify for vaccination can try to make an appointment here.

At the moment, everyone 65 and older is eligible for vaccination, as is anyone 50 and older who lives in a multi-generational household. Health workers, people living in senior care facilities, and emergency medical personnel are also eligible for vaccination. To find out if you qualify, you can visit the state’s Phase Finder tool.

If you need help making an appointment, please call the COVID-19 hotline at 1-800-525-0127 and then press #. Language support is available. There are generally long waiting times for the hotline.

About 800 appointments are available each day at the mass vaccination site at the Clark County Event Center on the Fairgrounds at Ridgefield. The site is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

In the first two weeks, 6,702 people received a vaccination dose on site. That is well above the originally expected rate of 500 vaccinations per day.

Many residents have encountered problems with the appointment portal to book vaccinations such as the website glitching, freezing or crashing.

If you cannot make an appointment at the fair grounds, you can browse the Department of Health website for other locations. Many locations have little vaccination and it is difficult to make an appointment.

Some eligible people may have to wait several weeks for a vaccination.
