The Venezuelan underwent a massive physical transformation; now he claims to be recovering and is very optimistic.

After a heavy physical transformation, Jesús “Chyno” Miranda broke the silence and decided to talk about the cause of his physical exhaustion and his obvious muscle loss.

Miranda reported suffering from “peripheral neuropathy” due to the coronavirus. Which in turn caused him paralysis and severe and persistent pain.

In an interview from People en Español magazine, Chyno and his wife Natasha Araos said the artist was infected with the corona virus in March, at the start of the pandemic.

Shortly after he recovered from typical symptoms, he started experiencing limb problems.

“I started to feel discomfort in my toes, then a tingling sensation and then I started to feel numbness and severe pain in my legs,” the artist explained, saying his health continued to deteriorate until he became paralyzed.

Looking back on those days last October, Chyno recognized that she feared the worst. Imagine, in a bed, without walking; The first thing I thought was my artistic career was over, ”he explained.

After several medical visits, “we went to the neurologist and he told us that he has very advanced neuropathy, to the point that he could no longer walk,” Araos said.

In addition to the paralysis, Chyno suffered from painful cramps, which, according to his wife, occurred every 15 minutes.

One of the worst moments of his torture was when, as a result of one of those cramps, he fell out of bed and was practically immobile and had to be hospitalized and subjected to an intensive regimen of physical rehabilitation.

“The doctor’s diagnosis was that as a result of covid-19 there was a compromise in the nervous system that turned into a peripheral neuropathy. The doctor told us that the virus endangered several situations. They told us it can happen to anyone. It is not hereditary. Covid-19 caused this compromise on the nervous system in him, ”added the artist’s wife.

Chyno is currently doing coordination and balance exercises, weight exercises and electrical stimulation, as he needs to keep moving and stay active. Doctors have assured him that he will be able to recover.

That’s why he confirms that “when the stages and shows are open, believe me I’ll be there and do my best.”

Chyno Miranda is one of the many Latin famous artists who revealed they were infected with the disease. The list includes J Balvin, Karol G, Prince Royce, Pablo Alborán, Camila Sodi, Antonio Banderas, Llane and many more.

So far, only he and Mexican actor Toño Mauri, who underwent a double lung transplant this week – five months after being diagnosed with covid-19 – have had serious consequences.
