Chvrches are back with a new single, “He Said She Said.” It is Chvrches’ first new piece of music since they released “Death Stranding” in 2019, their contribution to the eponymous Hideo Kojima game. Listen below.
“He Said She Said” was recorded almost entirely remotely on both sides of the Atlantic, with the band members working through Zoom and with audio sharing software to collaborate. It comes three years after the release of the Scottish electronic trio’s most recent album Love is dead
“‘He Said She Said’ is my way of dealing with things I’ve accepted that I know I shouldn’t have,” Lauren Mayberry said in a statement. “All the verses are ironic or paraphrased versions of things said to me by men in my life. Being a woman is fucking exhausting and it felt better shouting it in a pop song than shouting it out into the void. After the past year, I think we all feel like we’re going crazy. “
