Chrissy Teigen talks about her decision to get sober

Chrissy Teigen is outspoken about her sobriety.

On Wednesday on Instagram, the 35-year-old model revealed how Holly Whitaker’s book, “Quit Like a Woman: The Radical Choice to Not Drink in a Culture Obsessed with Alcohol,” contributed to her decision to get sober.

“A month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend,” Teigen began on her Instagram story.

“I was done making fun of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), I was tired of drinking the day and felt like around 6am, unable to sleep,” she continued. “I’ve been sober ever since and even if you can’t see yourself doing it or just don’t want to, it’s still an incredible reading.”

Earlier this week, Teigen confirmed that she has been sober for a month. After the reveal, the cookbook author received a slew of supportive messages from fans.

“I just got sober too !! Beautiful!!! Love this !! ”a comment on social media.

“Keep going well! One day at a time, ”replied another.

Teigen, the wife of singer John Legend, 42, has been struggling in recent months and revealed in October that she was suffering a pregnancy loss.

The couple, who share daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2, honored their late son Jack with tattoos.

This isn’t the first time Teigen has spoken out about her drinking. In 2017, Teigen told Cosmopolitan that she had ‘had too much to drink.

“I got used to sitting in hair and makeup and drinking a glass of wine. Then that glass of wine would hand over to me if I had one for the awards ceremony. And then a lot at the award ceremony. And then I felt bad for making a little fun of myself to people I really respected, ”said Teigen at the time.
