Chicagoans in Phase 1B-Plus of state vaccine plan now eligible for United Center appointments – NBC Chicago

On Sunday afternoon, all Chicago residents who are 18 or older and who have pre-existing health problems were eligible for appointments at the massive COVID vaccination site at the United Center.

JB Pritzker’s office, the change was made at the request of the Federal Emergency Management Association to better ensure that vaccine appointments would be available to “vulnerable populations” in the city itself.

Anyone 18 and older with underlying medical conditions, including cancer, diabetes, obesity, and other comorbidities, can sign up for appointments.

For residents in suburban Cook County hoping to sign up for vaccine appointments at the United Center, slots will be allocated through Cook County’s COVID vaccine website starting later this week. The procedure for applying for those appointments will be announced in the coming days, officials said.

Individuals who do not have access to the website can call 833-308-1988 Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm, officials say.

Some of the remaining doses from the United Center’s massive vaccination site will also be given to mobile vaccination teams, and will be made available in areas most affected by the pandemic, officials say. More details on those sites will be made available in the coming weeks.
