Chicago police are releasing a new video showing Adam Toledo was armed

Chicago police say the 13-year-old who was shot by police last month was holding a gun right before he was shot.

Video footage released by the CPD shows Adam Toledo running down an alley before being asked to stop and raise his hands, according to CBS 2 Chicago.

A grainy close-up of the seventh-grader shows him holding a gun in his right hand, according to police. Less than a second later, he was shot.

Disturbing bodycam video depicts the entire March 29 incident.

“Police, stop, stop right now,” Officer Eric Stillman hears as he chased the teenager down an alley. Hands. Show me your fg hands. “

“Drop, drop,” shouts the 34-year-old officer, before Toledo turns and the officer fires a single shot.

Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area when they encountered Toledo and another suspect.

Police have claimed the Little Village incident was an armed confrontation and a weapon was recovered.

Prosecutors had said Toledo carried a gun, but on Thursday backed off the statement, saying the attorney was “not fully informed” and “the video speaks for itself,” the CBS affiliate reported.
