With the aim of demanding justice and clarifying the femicide of his partner Mariana de Lourdes Sánchez Dávalos, Students of the Faculty of Human Medicine of the Autonomous University of Chiapas (Unach) announced an immediate and indefinite strike this Sunday through a letter to the university.

The university community, belonging to the degrees of gerontology and surgeon, demanded the corresponding authorities “Take action against those who would have ignored the complaints,” said Mariana, Social Services Medical Intern (MPSS).

As a result of the young woman’s death, several feminist groups, the UNACH student community and medical interns organized a silent march this Friday morning to honor Mariana’s memory and demand justice for her death.

“She was our friend, she had dreams, she was just doing her social work. She was an excellent girl. I only think about his mother. Really, being a woman in Mexico is very difficult. We live in fear, it shouldn’t be that way, ”said a Twitter user.

The Ministry of Health also took a position in this regard and limited itself to it reject any form of violence against women working for that agency.

“Institutional ties will be strengthened to ensure that medical students and government officials are in charge of educational programs. have the necessary tools to combat, report and prevent any form of gender violence ”, indicates an official statement released by the agency.

In fourth place Culiacán, Sinaloa with 13 cases, same number in Zapopan, Jalisco and Guadalajara, with 12 femicides.

In the metropolitan area of ​​the Valley of Mexico, in Mexico City, Iztapalapa, was the mayor’s office with the most femicides (12), followed by Cuauhtémoc and Tlalpan with 11 each. In the state of Mexico, Ecatepec, Tecámac, Tultitlán and Atizapán they each registered eight femicides.

The rest of the femicides are concentrated in García, Nuevo León; Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco; Morelia, Michoacán; Manzanillo, Colima; Chihuahua, Chihuahua; San Luis Potosí, SLP and Puebla, Puebla.
