Charges have been filed against a man who attempted to flee from Guayama Command

The man who tried to flee from Guayama Commando last night while being booked is now charged with attempted murder, theft, escape and gun law violation.

The Justice Department reported tonight that a total of 16 charges have been filed against Anthony Colón Maldonado.

According to the investigation, Colón Maldonado, 33, seized a police officer’s regulatory weapon at a time when he was being charged with other charges committed between January 23 and 24. When he left the Commandery, he detonated several times before being arrested with the help of a civilian.

Judge Brenda Sala Rivera, of the Guayama District Court, determined the probable cause in all of the charges filed and imposed a worldwide bail of $ 1,250,000, which he did not pay, for which he was admitted to prison.

The preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 2, 2021.
