Charges filed against a couple charged with the murder of a Carolina motel worker

Criminal charges for first-degree murder and gun-law violation have been filed today by agents assigned to the Carolina CIC’s Homicide Division against Juan Miguel Castillo Martínez and Jacqueline Lugo Colón, charged with murder Edmill de León García, employee of the Yess motel in Carolina.

The events took place last Saturday, but it was not until Sunday that the authorities were able to find the couple in a neighborhood of Hato Rey.

As reported by Wapa, additional charges will be brought against the couple for attempted murder and controlled substances after shooting agents in the middle of the prosecution to capture them.

The evidence was presented to Judge Lirio González, of the Carolina District Court, who settled the case and deposited a global bail of $ 1,050,000 to each of the defendants, which they did not pay because they were admitted to penal facilities.

Police station commissioner Antonio López Figueroa said via social networks that the global bond was for the couple $ 4,650,000.

“Thanks to the collaboration between citizens, the media, MY police officers and the Justice Department prosecutors,” he wrote.

De León García was 26 years old and was shot in the chest after arguing with customers by telling them they were out of time in the room so they had to extend it or leave the room.

The television channel added that authorities are still looking for a third person because they have apparently been on the scene.
