The suspect in the murder of three 19-year-old youths on Monday, near Moisty Skate Park, in Caguas, was charged today, Friday, after failing to pay bail on all charges of murder and guns law the prosecution has made. van Caguas has filed against him.
The Justice Department reported in a press release that Judge María Rojas Delgado of the Caguas Court of First Instance explained the likely reason for the arrest of William David Marcano Hernández, 47 years old, for triple murder, attempted murder and gun law violation.
The judge set a $ 2,750,000 global bond against Marcano Hernández, who was listed by Puerto Rico police as the most wanted person in Caguas jurisdiction.
Marcano Hernández was jailed for not paying bail.
The events date back to the night of January 19, 2021, when five young people were in the aforementioned park, which has been closed since 2013, when the suspect surprised and shot them with a firearm, killing them. Three of them. Two others managed to escape and were unharmed during the incident.
Marcano Hernández was charged with three charges of violation of Article 93 (murder); two charges for Section 93 (murder in its attempt mode); a charge of violation of Article 6.05 (carrying, transporting or using firearms without a license) and five charges for 6.14 (firing or aiming firearms).
However, the accused confessed to having committed the facts. Marcano Hernández, who was wanted for a 2018 double murder and gun law violations, also reportedly confessed to being the author of that crime that took place in the Bunker urbanization in Caguas. In addition, he said he was the author of a murder that took place in June 2020 in the Morales neighborhood of that municipality.
The investigation into this Caguas massacre was led by prosecutor Ana María Martínez Orama in conjunction with Officer Lizandra Aponte Rodríguez from the Homicide Division of the Caguas Criminal Investigation Corps of the Puerto Rico Police Department.
The preliminary hearing was scheduled for February 8, 2021.
