Andrés Manuel López Obrador, President of Mexico, stated that you are satisfied with the way different departments and agencies of your administration have dealt with the crisis due to the lack of natural gas.
During the inauguration of aero-derived turbogas generation units in Baja California Sur, the federal president indicated the need for the Federal Electricity Commission to resolve this deficit in five days as Texas continues to address this issue.
“I am very satisfied with the result, with the way CFE has handled this crisis … How long did it take us to solve the problem? Five days, five days for the work of workers, from the technicians of the Federal Electricity Commission. I’m very sorry about what is happening in Texas but they still don’t solve your problem. “We can face it well because we were in treatment, because we made early decisions, Before the crisis broke out, there was an emergency meeting between the CFE and the Ministry of Energy and they already asked me if they could use more Pemex fuel oil at a low price to start up all the factories in the country and upload enough energy to the entire network, ”he emphasized.
López Obrador stressed that this situation leaves them a great lesson: “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” and that is that he assured, Mexico has several sources of energy to generate.
He explained that the country’s thermoelectric and hydroelectric projects were put into operation immediately.
“We have to have experience in having different options. Imagine that in Texas, I say it with all due respect, you have no choice but natural gas, this crisis is coming and you have no choice, you have no alternative. Here when the price of natural gas starts to rise and when it decides that they are not going to supply us with natural gas liquefied gas vessels and other promotions are directly hiredThat’s a really good lesson, not just to bet on one type of fuel, of course look at the possible ones that aren’t non-polluting fuels, ”he explained.
He promised all environmentalists to convert factories that use diesel or heating oil into natural gas.
And last but not least, announced that it will soon unveil the hydropower modernization plan, who are considering changing turbines to increase energy.
