Each of the goalkeepers who got a goal from Messi will be given a bottle of beer after the record surpassed by the Argentinian.
American beer Budweiser released 644 custom bottles after Lionel Messi broke Pele’s record for the most goals for one club. The popular drink has sent a bottle to each of the 160 goalkeepers the Argentinian has scored since his debut in 2004.
Via a video on their official platforms, Budweiser showed the personalized bottles with the number each goalkeeper had.
“644 goals, 644 personalized beers, 160 goalkeepers. Leo Messi delivers on the field, we deliver off the field. A personalized bottle for every goalkeeper ”.
Faced with this situation, Gianluigi Buffon replied with great humor and grace from his Twitter account, after he considered himself lucky to meet the Argentinian on the field.
‘Gigi’ was wearing beers 514 and 515 when he was braced by Messi in a UEFA Champions League match on September 12, 2017, when the legendary goalkeeper guarded Juventus’ goal.
Thanks for the beers. I’ll take that as a compliment. We’ve had great fights over the years. Congratulations on breaking the record of 644 Messi. It is truly an incredible achievement. Cheers, ‘Buffon wrote from his account.
Last Tuesday, Lionel Messi surpassed Pelé as the player with the most goals scored for a single club after scoring one of three goals against Valladolid in LaLiga duel 14 for the Catalans.
