After Sam Smith hailed Celine Dion’s iconic song It’s All Coming Back to Me Now as one of his favorite vocal performances, Dion immediately took some praise for it.
Smith, 28, began on Tuesday in an interview with Pitchfork about the 1996 song of Dion, 52, where she described the song as “ outrageous. ”
Dion took to Twitter just hours later and also gushed over them in a heartfelt tweet about the British singer.

During the interview, Smith described Dion’s rendition of the song as “so dramatic” adding that “the vocal performance is out of this world.”
They added that her voice has a ‘tone and a sharpness that cuts right through you,’ adding that you can ‘hear her personality when she sings.’
Smith said that the ‘basis’ for all their musical knowledge were singers such as Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Chaka Khan, ‘women who sang in the middle of a stage and did nothing but sing’.

Smith, who announced in 2019 that they are nonbinary and they use pronouns, recently shared the trauma he faced after making that announcement.
