The studio behind indie honey Celeste, Vancouver-based Extremely OK Games, is finally ready to unveil the next game, Earthblade

While the developers to admit their blog post is more of a ‘vibe reveal’ than a full announcement, there’s a lot going on here, thanks in part to the studio’s pedigree. Earthblade is described as a “2D exploration action game in a seamless pixel art world” with music by the inimitable Lena Raine, who composed in my humble opinion one of the best game soundtracks in front of CelesteYou can listen to a fragment of her work Earthblade Below.

“It took four prototypes to find them Earthblade, and it is now more than three years ago Celeste‘s first release,’ Maddy Thorson, director of Extremely OK Games, wrote about developing the upcoming game.[The] prototypes taught us a lot, but in the end we ventured far too far from our comfort zone to realistically ever finish them. It took a while, but we feel we have found the right compromise between the two Earthblade

Extremely OK Games plans to release Earthblade sometime between now and the end of the 21st century. Stay tuned for more.
