Brazilian motorcyclist André Verissimo went viral after celebrating his victory early in a race at the Ayrton Senna International Circuit in Goiânia, Brazil. The gesture was expensive, as he eventually relegated to third place on the podium.
A video of the scene shows the pilot entering the final straight and turning to make sure no rival is coming after him. Then he got on his motorcycle and released the accelerator pedal to raise his hands in a triumphant gesture in the air. The moment of relaxation was used by two of his pursuers, who accelerated and overtook him without the Brazilian being able to do anything about it.
Despite the fact that countless internet users mocked the pilot for what had happened, Verissimo saw the mistake as an opportunity to laugh at himself, RT published.
