The Cyberpunk 2077 refund situation just gets stranger and stranger. Developer CD Projekt Red tells players who have requested a refund for the PlayStation 4 version of the game to wait.

After a weekend of anger Cyberpunk 2077‘s underperformance on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, CD Projekt Red apologized publicly and sent disgruntled players to request a refund through the official channels of Microsoft and Sony. They did. Xbox One users got mixed results. Overall, PlayStation players were less fortunate, and many were held back by Sony’s stricter refund policies. (If you downloaded a game to your console, you are not eligible for a refund. There is a noted exception for ‘content’ that is ‘defective’, but Cyberpunk 2077despite its many technical issues, it doesn’t seem to fit. Sony has repeatedly ignored requests for clarification Kotaku.)

CD Projekt Red’s apology also included an email address – relief fee [at] cdprojektred [dot] com – where those who couldn’t get a refund could contact the publisher directly for help. Yesterday, CDPR execs said for which there was no special refund policy Cyberpunk 2077 on Microsoft or Sony platforms. This morning, people who wrote the helpline received this message in return:
