CLEVELAND – Cavaliers Guard Kevin Porter Jr. is expected to be traded or released after an eruption on Friday in Cavs’ locker room. The Athletic has learned from various sources with direct knowledge of the events.
Porter, 20, who has not played this season due to personal issues, got angry when he entered the locker room and realized that the team was giving his old locker to Taurean Prince, who was taken over in a blockbuster trade on Wednesday.
Sources said Porter, whose locker had been moved to the wall where the younger players reside at the end of the couch, started yelling and at one point threw food.
Sources said General Manager Koby Altman entered the locker room and confronted Porter, and the player remained militant with his boss. The Cavs tried to trade him over the weekend.
