The popular weather app CARROT Weather has today been updated to version 5.0, with a number of upgrades to the design and functionality of the app, along with a change in the pricing structure.

There is a revamped design that has been updated to make it easier to navigate, with native UI elements that blend better with other iOS apps and revamped icons. A navigation bar at the bottom of the app makes it easier to access the various functions.
A map-based system provides interesting weather-related data, such as how much rain is expected during a storm, or whether it will be particularly windy during the day.
CARROT is smart, so it won’t fill your screen with useless maps. If you open the app on a relatively quiet day, you may only see sunrise / sunset and moon phase maps. But as the weather starts to turn, new maps will bubble up to highlight potential dangers: a major pressure drop in the next 3 hours, stormy winds this afternoon, two inches of rain the next day.
Any map or component on the main Weather tab can be long-pressed or tapped to open a detail screen that provides more weather-related data, such as daily summaries, lunar phase charts, and hourly and daily charts for each weather data point.
CARROT Weather 5.0 is more customizable than before with a built-in Interface Maker tool for rearranging the Weather tab, adding new components, tweaking the design and more, describing the app as the most customizable weather app on the market.
Customization options unlock in stages over the course of three days of use to keep users from becoming overwhelmed, and custom interfaces can be saved as presets. CARROT also comes with several pre-built preset options with different color and layout schemes.

The app includes over 2,000 lines of new dialogue, 20 new achievements, 30 alternate app icons, eight secret locations, and other Easter eggs to discover.
From now on CARROT Weather can be downloaded for free with an optional premium subscription. Existing customers can keep all the features of the original version of the app forever and get current Premium Club prices fixed. Previously, the app was priced at $ 4.99 with an optional plan, and as of now the new version will feature ads, but it will be ads for other indie apps or fake products.
A Premium $ 4.99 per month / $ 19.99 per year subscription level unlocks features such as weather data sources, notifications, customizations, widgets and Apple Watch complications, while a Premium Ultra subscription for $ 9.99 per month or $ 39.99 per year includes all Premium features, along with rain, lightning and storm cell alerts, a weather maps widget and quick data source switching.
There is also a Premium Family plan that includes all the features of Premium Ultra that can be shared with up to five family members. This costs $ 14.99 per month or $ 59.99 per year.
