Carmen Yulín is being considered for various vacancies outside of Puerto Rico

The Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulin Cruz Soto, reported today, Tuesday, that she is being considered for positions on the boards of directors of several nonprofits outside of Puerto Rico.

In a press conference, the outgoing mayor did not detail which entities they are, but stated that they are prestigious organizations in the fields of education, civil rights and immigrant rights.

“In some there is compensation, in others there is no compensation, but there is the opportunity to contribute what we have learned in Puerto Rico so that it can be used in other parts of Latin America,” the owner said.

Cruz Soto explained that those positions would be a one-year contract, but they could also be extended for some extra time.

Likewise, the mayor said she accepted an offer at a university in Massachusetts to conduct various seminars and write a book about her experiences as a mayor.

“I still have a negotiation to act as a link between some sectors of Puerto Rico and the US Congress,” he added. “That should be completed by next week and I will be able to give you details about that,” he continued.

In this way, Cruz Soto, who finished in third place after the primaries for governor by the Popular Democratic Party, He also assured that he does not rule out returning to choice policy in the light of the 2024 elections.

“I can now tell you that if I do it would be for one of the two: by accumulation or for the resident police station. Looking for Popular Party alliances with the Movimiento Victoria Ciudadana Party or the Puerto Rican Independence Party, ”he said.
