Carlos Vives and Ricky Martin dedicate their song to Puerto Rico

A month ago, a production team in the middle of the road in Piñones caught the attention of those passing by. Later they did the same in Old San Juan. Then it became known that Carlos Vives and Ricky Martin were recording a song together.

Today it comes out under the title “Beautiful Song”, from which comes the sequence that also premieres tonight on the main platforms.

It is the Colombian’s new musical adventure in which he unites his musical talent with that of the Puerto Rican, while also blending the musical tastes of both countries.

“I hope this song reaches the hearts of the people and that the world knows the beauty of San Juan, its importance in music to today’s currents, the incredible people and the beauty of one of the most amazing places in the world,” he said to Carlos Vives about what this song represents. “I always want to go back to San Juan, but to return with Ricky this time to sing for him and declare our love for him is a memory for life. If you want to know why Puerto Rican artists are so charismatic and successful, walk through San Juan while listening to ‘Canción bonita’, ”said Vives, who lived in Puerto Rico for a while.

“’Canción bonita’ is the perfect song for this collaboration with my brother Carlos Vives. Carlos’ love for Puerto Rico is genuine and this gives authentic value to the lyrics. A true celebration of our country that gives us so much. I’m sure they will enjoy it as much as we do, ”said the Puerto Rican star.

“Beautiful song”, detailed in a press release, is a declaration of love for Puerto Rico. Carlos and Ricky found the perfect opportunity to sing on the island where they met when Ricky was 17 years old, which has inspired some of their musical successes and brought the artists together.

Directed by Carlos Pérez (Elastic People), the video was filmed in Old San Juan, Piñones (Loíza) and the iconic El Batey bar, highlighting Puerto Rico’s aesthetics, culture and history.

This Thursday, Vives and Ricky Martin will present the song at the Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs).

On April 23, Carlos joins the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, along with Venezuelan director Gustavo Dudamel to present a concert that will collect the most significant successes of his career.

The premiere of “Canción Bonita” takes place amid the mourning that Vives faces after the death of his father, ENT specialist, Dr. Luis Aurelio Vives, last week in Santa Marta, Colombia, at the age of 91.

Dr. Vives died after a long illness, and both the singer and the rest of his family were by his side, the singer’s publicist, Mayna Nevárez, told The Associated Press. He did not specify what illness he was suffering from, but said that Vives was very attached to his father.
