“This seems to us Honduras to have already forgotten that this covid-19 is highly contagious and how many irresponsible children today have to cry that they infected their parents or grandparents because they are irresponsible,” pointed out Rodríguez in a sermon in the minor basilica of Suyapa. .

According to the latest data from the National Risk Management System (Sinager), Honduras has more than 119,000 infections, with 438 cases detected in the past hours, and 3,065 deaths since mid-March, when the first two positive patients were reported.

“Anyone who loves their mom and dad follows bio-safety precautions, puts on their mask, disinfects their hands and clothes, and doesn’t participate in parties or meetings unnecessarily, that’s also loving and respectful mom and dad or our grandparents when we take it. to be lucky to live, that is also wisdom advice ”, emphasized the religious.

Corona vaccine

Rodríguez complained that humanity is “ dehumanizing itself and in some homes the Day of the Holy Family will pass as insignificant and all that matters is whether the vaccines have already arrived and if they have already been introduced without regard to the fact that the most important vaccine is love ”.

2020 was “a difficult year, but not lost” despite the coronavirus pandemic and the effects of tropical storms Eta and Iota, assured the Honduran cardinal, who urged Hondurans to “love and respect life. Love and respect. the lives of those we love ”.

“We are already living this now, that is the opportunity to enter the experience of love and life that Jesus offers us, now there is also a new time for the spiritual life of each of us, we are not bound by the past, oh that this year 2020 is a year to be forgotten, because it has been a lost year, no, it has been a difficult year, but not a lost year ”, he insisted.

“All who, still limited, have found more God, have entrusted more to God, fed on his word, followed the media’s celebrations, they cannot say it is a lost year, only those who live on it material and who live off the emptiness of idling through the streets, or of those who devise evil, ”said the Honduran cardinal.
