Capcom Insider supports earlier claims of Switch “Focused” Resident Evil Revelations 3 release

Resident Evil Revelations

Last year, Capcom suffered a leak and revealed a game called Resident Evil Outbreak was scheduled for a Q4 2021 release.

As previously mentioned by Capcom insider Twilight Golem, this title is apparently Resident Evil Revelations 3 (or at least was originally named so at some point during development) and will be a “Switch-focused RE game”, but not exclusive to the platform.

The same insider has now backed up previous claims – stating that the game will be “within a year of [Resident Evil] Village’s release “which will be released in May this year and will be part of Capcom’s big 25th anniversary celebration for its long-running survival horror series.

“This isn’t mine, but just to be clear, Revelations 3 will be out within a year of Village’s release date, either late 2021 or early 2022.

Releases as part of their 25th anniversary celebration, along with Village, will almost certainly be an exclusive Switch with a time limit. But that will be announced later this year as Village deserves attention for the time being and will be out in a few months now. ! “

Dusk Golem goes on to explain how the game runs “100%” on the RE Engine that Capcom used it for Monster Hunter Rise and while it is a “timed exclusive”, it is released “on everything” as a multi-generation game. It was also mentioned how Rebecca would still be the lead actor:

“I first heard about Rev 3 in 2017 that Rebecca would be starring, and I’ve updated several times over the years, it’s still a Rebecca game. Characters, but these lips are zipped shut for now.”

Dusk Golem previously shed light on a new Monster Hunter game for Switch – well in advance of its official announcement – explaining how it would run on the RE Engine.

The last entry in the line was Revelations Resident Evil Revelations 2 – an episodic take on the survival horror series, originally launched in 2015 and released on Switch in 2017.
