Canadian TV reporter harassed while filming a segment

Police in Canada are investigating after a TV reporter was harassed by a man who threw a vulgar remark at her while she was filming a clip.

Krista Sharpe, a reporter for Canadian broadcaster CTV, was filming in the town of Kitchener, Ontario, when a driver called out ‘fk hair in the py’ from his car window before driving away.

The journalist shared the images on Twitter on Monday, to write: “This isn’t funny and it’s not cool.”

“As much as I’d like to say it doesn’t bother me, it does. I feel bad, ”she wrote.

Sharpe said the harassment was especially concerning as she often works alone, adding, “This is still happening to female reporters everywhere and it needs to stop.”

Waterloo Regional Police responded to Sharpe’s tweet and said agents would investigate the matter.

“We are sorry to see this @KristajSharpe. It is completely unacceptable, ”the department wrote.

Waterloo regional police chief Bryan Larkin said the images, which have since been shared thousands of times, could be submitted as evidence, the CBC reported.

“This incident is unacceptable, vulgar and insulting. No one should be exposed to hatred and bullying at work, ” Larkin tweeted.
