Canadian legislator caught naked in virtual meeting

A Canadian lawmaker was caught at a virtual conference in the House of Commons on Wednesday, a report said.

William Amos, a Liberal MP, was caught on camera standing naked in his office, flanked by the flags of Quebec and Canada, according to a screenshot obtained by The Canadian Press, CTV News reported.

The incident took place during the interrogation period.

The 46-year-old lawmaker, who represents parts of Quebec, later apologized for the showing, which he said was unintentional.

“This was an unfortunate mistake,” Amos said inside tweeted a statement by CTV News reporter Rachel Aiello.

“My video was accidentally turned on when I was changing after jogging. I sincerely apologize to my colleagues in the House of Commons for this inadvertent distraction, ”he said.

Amos did not speak during the virtual session.

The Liberal Party’s whip, Member of Parliament Claude DeBellefeuille, addressed the incident after the interrogation period, the reports said.

DeBellefeuille said parliamentary decorum requires male MPs to wear formal attire, including underwear.
