The LA Galaxy today unveiled the team’s new away shirt known as the ‘Community Kit’, which featured Mexican midfielder Jonathan dos Santos as well as former players Jorge Campos and Cobi Jones, among others.
Born out of club culture, the Galaxy ‘Community Kit’ features a vertical stripe design in black, technical green and collegiate gold that pays homage to the club’s history.
The shirt has a modern design that gives a nod to the past and is inspired by the sights and sounds of the Galaxy days at Rose Bowl Stadium.
“We are delighted to introduce the new ‘LA Galaxy Community Kit’ shirt that will serve as our secondary uniform for the next two seasons,” said Chris Klein, LA Galaxy president.
“We are the club of champions in the city of champions and this classic design is a tribute to that. We are proud of our history and hope our fans will love the retro-inspired progressive twist on this shirt. “
The ‘Community Kit’ is a celebration of the fans who have been loyal fans of the Galaxy from day one. The name of the shirt celebrates the club’s history, the vibrant community of fans and the spirit of the city of Los Angeles.
The new away shirt has an LA logo detail on the back of the neck. Both home and away kits will wear the club’s five stars on top of the shield, representing the five LA Galaxy MLS Cup titles won in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
The white home shirt that was unveiled in 2020 will stand for 2021.
